Tick Education are currently seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker/Site Agent in Luton to join our team. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of the school by ensuring day-to-day maintenance and repairs are carried out efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities of the School Caretaker job in Luton:
– Carry out general maintenance and repairs to ensure the school building and grounds are safe, clean, and in good working order.
– Conduct regular inspections of the premises, identifying and promptly addressing any health and safety hazards or maintenance issues.
– Maintain the security of the school premises, including unlocking and locking buildings, gates, and entrances as required.
– Monitor and respond to alarms and security systems, taking appropriate action in case of emergencies.
– Ensure that heating, lighting, and ventilation systems are functioning correctly.
– Set up and dismantle equipment and furniture for school events and activities.
– Liaise with external contractors and suppliers as necessary, ensuring that work is completed to high standards.
– Assist with the coordination of cleaning schedules and waste management procedures.
– Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs carried out.

Requirements:
– Previous experience in a caretaker or site agent role is highly desirable.
– Strong practical skills and the ability to carry out general maintenance and repairs.
– Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to identify and address potential hazards.
– Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
– Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with staff, students, and external contractors.
– Flexibility to work outside of normal school hours when required.
– Hold a valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate or be willing to obtain one.
– Eligible to work in the UK.
