Design and Technology Teacher

Tick Education have been asked by one of their secondary schools in Northampton to assist them with a Design and Technology Teacher.  The role is for a long-term post and will fall into AWR as it is a full teaching role. The role starts as soon as possible, and candidates will be invited in by the school to meet the department and demonstrate a lesson. The school have asked for a Fully Qualified Design and Technology Teacher who has at least 6 months experience UK teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons in accordance with the national curriculum, ensuring a varied and stimulating learning experience.

• Student Engagement: Foster a passion for design and technology, encouraging students to explore and express their creativity through hands-on projects.

• Practical Skills: Develop and enhance students’ practical skills in areas such as woodworking, metalworking, electronics, and graphic design.

• Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement.

• Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to effective learning.

• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the overall success of the department and school.

Must have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• In-depth knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment processes.

• Strong classroom management skills.

• Passion for fostering creativity and practical skills in students.
