It’s 2024 and technology has advanced in ways we could only have imagined a few years ago. Check out our 5 points on how to bring technology into the classroom.
- Use the Too Noisy app. This is specifically great in primary schools and helps the children to become more self aware about the level of noise they make in the classroom. As the noise level increases to an unacceptable level, the on screen visuals will change to let the children know to reduce their volume
- Videos. Sometimes children will understand certain topics easier if they have examples of situations with context. A video is a great way to teach them about a specific subject matter which may have been more difficult to have accomplished in another way, such as important life skills and anti drugs campaigns
- Online activities can be a great way of engaging children who might have finished their work early. You can set up a specific area of the classroom with access to educational games which will further their learning and can also be used as a way to reward positive behaviour in class
- PowerPoint presentations are better for visual learners who might understand more through graphs, diagrams and pictures. It splits up theoretical lessons where there might be a lot of reading from text books, so that the lesson is more fun
- You can use online surveys such as SurveyMonkey or Google Forms to get feedback from the children or do online quizzes and worksheets. A great way to bring technology into the classroom!
